Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for your interest in our social club. Please see the list below for answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you do not see your question listed, please contact us directly.
Q: What types of activities can I expect to see held?
A: Our activities vary depending on the interests of our members and can range from private special interest groups, such as book clubs and park meet-ups, to community-based activities such as playing mini-golf, etc...
Q: How often are activities held?
A: This also varies, and is dependent on the type of activities you are interested in. Community social activities will be occasional, and will likely not follow any particular schedule. The frequency and schedule of special interest groups will depend upon the needs and preferences of the members of each group.
Q: Why are the activities different prices, and how do the prices work?
A: Activity prices are based on the expenses of each particular activity, as well as the time and effort that goes into planning, organizing, and running them. For a detailed explanation of how our activity pricing works, click HERE.
Q: What is the SSC Friend Finder service and how does it work?
A: Friend Finder is an optional social matching service we offer our members to help them connect directly with others who could, potentially, be a good social match for them. When you complete your membership form, you will have the choice to opt-in to this service and indicate your preferences, or you may opt-in at any time. Q: How does the Independent Group Option work?
A: The goal of Spectrum Social Club is to help our members establish lifelong friendships. If a group of members have established close bonds with one another while attending one of our special interest groups, we encourage them to become independent. In order to do this, the members would exchange contact information, notify SSC, and take over organizing and holding the group activities.
NOTE: Depending on circumstances, the members may to find a private location to hold their activities.
Q: Why do you want so much information about me or my child?
A: In order for us to be able to organize activities and events you (your child) will be interested in, we need to know as much as possible about your (their) interests. This is also necessary for us to be able to match you (your child) with others who have common interests and would be a good social match.
Q: How is my data protected when I submit the membership application?
A. We are committed to protecting your data. We collect all membership application data through Google Forms, which employs industry-leading security measures to safeguard your information according to their privacy policies. Internally, our team uses a Virtual Private Network (VPN) when accessing and managing the data you submit. This ensures that our connection to Google's services is encrypted and secure, adding an extra layer of protection to the data we handle on our end.
Please note: A VPN primarily secures our access and does not directly encrypt the data transmission from your device to Google's servers. For that aspect, you benefit from Google's inherent security protocols, and you can choose to use your own VPN for added security during submission.
